How to export your Vanguard trades
Vanguard Investor lets you download your transactions from its website. Then See Your Trade shows which holdings went up or down, and by how much, since you bought — free, with nothing to install.
Option 1: download your activity CSV
- Sign in to the Vanguard website (exporting isn't available in the app).
- Open your account and go to Transactions or Reports.
- Choose the full date range and download the transaction history as a spreadsheet.
- If it downloads as Excel, save it as CSV, then upload it on See Your Trade under Activity CSV.
Menu names change from time to time — if a step looks different, look for "export", "history" or "statements".
Option 2: upload screenshots
Screenshot your holdings page showing each fund's value. Funds are matched to live prices automatically.
Screenshots give your exact current holdings. Buy dates are estimated from your return.
Good to know
- Vanguard funds that aren't traded on an exchange may show without live price history — they're counted at the value shown.
